I was charged with coming up for an implementation plan at work for the social media aggregate Lijit (which I heard about via Fast Company). By installing a Lijit widget on your blog, you can allow readers to search not only your site, but the sites on your blogroll as well as your YouTube activity, Facebook, Twitter, and on and on.
I haven't been able to find much buzz about it yet on the Internet, so I thought I'd pose the question: Does anyone out there use Lijit? How useful is it? How much upkeep is required? These are all questions my department wants to know BEFORE implementation.
My instinct is always to sign up and figure out the benefits as you use it -- you can always chuck the thing later -- but that's not how business thinks. At least in my workplace.

Acree, I know you're probably not looking for someone who works at Lijit to help answer this question, but I thought I'd let you know what I personally find useful about Lijit.
Our stats. They are extremely easy to understand, allow you to better understand the people coming to your blog and help with content creation.
For example, one of our stats tell you what searches are being done that return no results. This is good information to know so that you can write a blog post about that topic that everyone is searching for.
Thanks for checking out our service. I'm tara [at] lijit [dot] com and am happy to help if you need it!
